I hate political stuff, and I'm not a fan of (de)motivational style posters, but I will not stand by and let blatant lies go unchecked.
This is from Colorado SB13-196, which would assign the liability of damages caused by people who use "assault weapons" in crimes to the sellers and manufacturers of such firearms.
Facts:
-There are roughly 3,000,000 civilian class (non select fire) AR-15 rifles in the United States. This is just the AR-15, this number does not include AK family rifles or other "assault weapons". This number is also a VERY low-ball estimate.
-Number of people killed in 2011 with rifles (including "assault weapons"): 323*
-Number of people killed in 2011 with personal weapons (hands, feet, fists): 728*
-Number of people reported struck by lightning (annual average): 280**
Firearms are not the problem.
Remember; "assault weapons", much like wolves and sharks, are very dangerous and will kill just for the fun of it at the first chance they get. Don't let the numbers and facts fool you.
*numbers directly from FBI crime statistics reports
**average number of annual victims reported from 2001-2010, from NOAA.
I say we blame all those dirty stainless steel makers. Don't they know that people use those to make knives, which people can be killed with? I mean, everyone who buys pointed knives MUST have something malicious in mind! Cutting meat? You don't need to cut your meat!
Besides, people with social network accounts take images from deviantart and post them so this image has more of a reach than just deviantart.
